Hurricane Rita upgraded to Category 5 storm

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Hurricane Rita strengthened into a
Category 5 storm on Wednesday as it headed for the Texas coast
later this week, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said in its
latest update.
The storm, packing winds of 165 mph, was projected to make
landfall on Saturday after threatening oil and natural gas
facilities in the Gulf Coast region.
