GAZA (Reuters) - Two explosions heard in the Gaza Strip on Saturday by Palestinian witnesses were sonic booms from Israeli jets, the Palestinian Interior Ministry said.
The ministry said the sonic booms were caused by Israeli F-16 jets carrying out "mock raids" over Gaza.
An Israeli Army spokesman said the Air Force "has not targeted any operations in the area."
Earlier on Saturday Israel launched air strikes in the Gaza Strip after Palestinian militants mounted several rocket attacks on the Jewish state from the territory, wounding five Israelis.
