JERUSALEM (Reuters) - The Israeli air force launched a further air strike on Saturday near the northern Gaza Strip on an open field used by militants to fire rockets into Israel, the army said.
The army said the strike had targeted a field from which Palestinian militants had been launching rockets.
Palestinian security sources said the air strike took place near Beit Hanoun with no injuries reported.
Earlier on Saturday Israel launched air strikes in Gaza it said targeted weapons foundries after Palestinian militants mounted several rocket attacks on the Jewish state from the territory, which wounded five Israelis.
Sonic booms over Gaza hours later caused alarm on the ground among jittery residents who reported explosions.
