US Airways, America West complete merger

NEW YORK (Reuters) - US Airways Group Inc. said on Tuesday that it had completed a merger with America West Airlines and that the two airlines would begin operating as a single carrier under the US Airways name.
The merged carrier begins trading today on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol LCC, the airlines said. The two airlines are continuing to operate separate reservations systems and Web sites for the short term.
