NABLUS, West Bank (Reuters) - Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian gunman in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, a Palestinian militant group and the army said.
Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, part of President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction, announced the death over loudspeakers in the city of Nablus, saying one of its members was killed in a gun battle with Israeli troops.
An army spokeswoman said soldiers patrolling a district north of Nablus opened fire on a group of gunmen, killing one. There were no Israeli casualties.
