Strong earthquake jolts east Japan, felt in Tokyo

TOKYO (Reuters) – An earthquake with a preliminary
magnitude of 6.2 jolted eastern Japan on Wednesday and was felt
in Tokyo, but no tsunami warning was issued, NHK national
television said.

The quake, at 8:40 p.m. (1140 GMT), shook buildings in
Tokyo, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or
damage.
