WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Police closed several streets near the Capitol building on Friday and were questioning two men and examining their car after one of the man suggested he had an explosive device, U.S. Capitol Police said.
The Capitol and Senate and House of Representatives office buildings were not being evacuated, but a nearby commercial office building was cleared because of the incident.
A senior Capitol law enforcement officer said at least one of the men made a comment that indicated he had an explosive device, but it was not immediately determined if he did.
Fire trucks and emergency vehicles were on the scene.
