Construction scaffolding collapses in Fenway Park

BOSTON (Reuters) - Construction scaffolding collapsed
behind home plate at Fenway Park during a renovation of the
home stadium of the Boston Red Sox, team officials said on

The Red Sox said no one was injured in the collapse but the
American League baseball club was still gathering more
information about the cause of the accident.

The structure crumpled near the old .406 club, a
glass-enclosed seating area that is now being converted into
pricey open-air club seats and a pavilion.

The construction is part of the latest revamp of the
93-year-old stadium in an effort to add an additional 2,500
seats to the park, which seats roughly 36,300 people.
