Shooting at Texas military base wounds 3

December 1, 2005

HOUSTON (Reuters) – A U.S. Navy sailor shot a fellow sailor
and a Navy officer on Thursday at the U.S. Naval Air Station in
Fort Worth, Texas, before shooting himself, according to a
report by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on its Web site.

The gunman’s wounds appeared to be the most serious, Capt.
John McCormack, base commander, told the newspaper. He said the
shooting happened about 12:40 p.m. CST (1840 GMT) in the flight
operations center at the Air Station.

Fort Worth Police Sgt. Paul Ware said the shooting appeared
to stem from an argument and called the gunman a “disgruntled
employee.”

McCormack said the gun used in the shooting was the
sailor’s personal weapon.
