Military Plane Crashes in Algeria

A military plane crashed in a residential area west of Algiers on Monday, causing an unknown number of casualties, national radio reported.

The crash took place near the Boufarik military airport, 25 miles west of the capital.

The radio report referred to “numerous victims,” but no other details were given.

The Moroccan news agency MAP, citing unidentified official sources, reported that the crash of a C130 Hercules transport plane killed several victims on the ground.

Police and rescuers rushed to the scene and evacuated the injured to regional hospitals.
