Lottery ticket worth $365 million sold in Nebraska
CHICAGO (Reuters) – U.S. lottery officials on Sunday were
looking for the winner of a record $365 million jackpot, which
they said was the largest in the world, after a single winning
ticket was sold in Nebraska.
The Multi-State Lottery Association said the Powerball
jackpot broke the previous Powerball record of $340 million,
sold in Oregon in October.
The winner may choose between annuity payments spread out
over up to 30 years, or a cash option worth $177.3 million.
Powerball is played in 28 states, the District of Columbia,
and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
