April 3, 2006
ALEXANDRIA, Virginia (Reuters) – A federal jury has reached
a verdict in the sentencing trial of Zacarias Moussaoui, who
faces the death penalty for conspiracy in connection with the
September 11 attacks, the court said on Monday.
“The jury in U.S. v. Moussaoui has sent a note to the judge
indicating they have reached a verdict,” the court said in a
statement.
The verdict, reached after about 17 hours of deliberation,
will be read at 4 p.m. EDT. Moussaoui pleaded guilty last year
to conspiracy in connection with the hijacked airliner attacks
and the jury will determine if he gets executed for the crimes.
