Macy’s to launch upscale Marth Stewart line: report
NEW YORK (Reuters) – Federated Department Stores Inc. is
expected to announce on Thursday that its Macy’s division will
launch an exclusive Martha Stewart line of home furnishings,
the Wall Street Journal reported.
The line, to be called Martha Stewart Collection and set
for an autumn 2007 launch, will include bed and bath
furnishings, casual dinnerware, flatware, glassware, cookware,
garden furniture and holiday decorations, the newspaper
Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. already has a deal
that runs through 2009 to sell housewares and other home
products under the Martha Stewart Everyday brand exclusively
through Kmart, a division of Sears Holdings Corp.
The products to be offered at Macy’s will be more upscale
than the line available at Kmart, Stewart told the Journal.
