ATLANTA (Reuters) – Security officers found a suspected
explosive in a carry-on bag and closed the main screening
checkpoints at the busy Atlanta airport on Wednesday, aviation
officials said.
Bomb squad officers were called to the scene after workers
with the Transportation Security Administration found the
suspicious bag shortly before 2 p.m., the agency said.
Flights were delayed and security checkpoints evacuated but
the terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International
Airport remained open, airport spokeswoman Felicia Browder told
CNN.
