US should compromise on agriculture: EU trade chief
HELSINKI (Reuters) – European trade chief Peter Mandelson
said on Friday the United States was demanding too much and
offering too little to achieve a deal on agricultural subsidies
in global trade negotiations.
Mandelson, speaking on a visit to Finland, also said it
would be tough for global trade negotiations to meet an
end-April target to agree a pact on farm and industrial goods,
cornerstones of the Doha round of world trade talks.
