Indian bus falls into river, 18 killed
MUMBAI (Reuters) - At least 18 people were killed when an
overcrowded bus plunged into a river near India's commercial
hub of Mumbai on Tuesday, police said.
The bus, carrying about 60 people, veered off a bridge
after the driver lost control. "Eighteen bodies have been
recovered. Some people have been rescued," Archana Tyagi, a
senior police officer, told Reuters.
Rescue workers were looking for other passengers.
