Three killed, 10 injured in Texas tornadoes
HOUSTON (Reuters) – Three people were killed and 10 others
injured when tornadoes danced across parts of northern Texas,
officials said on Wednesday.
The deaths occurred northeast of Dallas where an elderly
couple and a teenage boy were killed in twisters that struck
Lt. John Norton of the Collin County Sheriff’s Department
told reporters 26 homes were “essentially destroyed” by the
storm, but that so far no other victims had been found.
He said the 10 injured had been taken to area hospitals.
Emergency crews used heat-seeking sensors and dogs to
search the rubble of houses and mobile homes in the mostly
rural area, officials said.
