BAGHDAD (Reuters) – Four U.S. soldiers and their Iraqi
interpreter were killed on Thursday when their vehicle struck a
roadside bomb northwest of Baghdad, the U.S. military said in a
statement.

The statement issued by the 4th Infantry Division that
patrols the Iraqi capital did not give further details.

The United States has around 133,000 troops in Iraq,
suffering daily casualties in insurgent and other attacks three
years after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein. More than 2,400
U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq since the 2003 invasion.
