Navistar, UAW reach tentative 4-yr contract

CHICAGO (Reuters) – Navistar International Corp. on
Wednesday said its International Truck and Engine Corp.
operating unit has reached a tentative four-year labor contract
with the United Auto Workers.
Navistar said it would withhold details of the agreement
pending a UAW ratification vote on Thursday.
The UAW represents about 4,000 employees at manufacturing
plants, parts distribution centers and a truck technical
center. Talks began in April on a new agreement. The existing
contract does not expire until October 2007.
