Forecasters lift Florida hurricane warning

MIAMI (Reuters) – A hurricane warning in effect for much of
the Gulf Coast of Florida since Monday was lifted on Tuesday
after Tropical Storm Alberto failed to gain strength before
making landfall, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.
The hurricane warning was downgraded at 11 a.m. EDT to a
tropical storm warning.
