NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Hornets did just enough down the stretch to force Game 7 against the Miami Heat.
Baron Davis had 15 points and 12 assists, while defensive specialists George Lynch and P.J. Brown each scored 16 points as the Hornets nearly blew an 18-point fourth-quarter lead in an 89-83 victory Sunday.
The series, tied 3-3, concludes Tuesday night in Miami. The host team has won each game so far, and Miami has a 15-game home unbeaten streak. In NBA history, the team with homecourt advantage has won its Game 7 on 70 of 85 occasions.
Jamaal Magloire tied his series high with 14 points and David Wesley added 10 as all five starters reached double figures.
Dwyane Wade scored 27, including 10 in the final period, to lead Miami, which trailed by 18 points with eight minutes left but got as close as 85-81 on a runner by Caron Butler with 1:07 left.
Eddie Jones had 23 points, shooting 9-of-10 from the free throw line, and Butler finished with 14.
Lamar Odom had a poor game, fouling out with 2:20 left after scoring only nine points.
