Tsunami hits West Java coast: Indonesian minister
JAKARTA (Reuters) – A tsunami hit the southern coast of
Indonesia’s Java island after a powerful offshore earthquake,
Transport Minister Hatta Rajasa said on Monday.
“There has been a tsunami hitting Pangandaran Beach but I
don’t how big,” he told Jakarta-based Radio Elshinta.
Pangandaran Beach is in West Java province.
One caller told Elshinta she had seen three bodies after a
wave struck. It could not immediately be confirmed.
