Saddam said healthy for to court
BAGHDAD (Reuters) – Saddam Hussein is well enough to return
to court on Monday after 16 days on hunger strike, a U.S.
military spokesman said on Sunday in response to a report that
the former Iraqi president had been taken to hospital.
The spokesman declined to comment on specifics of
detainees’ health. He confirmed that Saddam and three
co-defendants who have not eaten since July 7 have been
receiving medical care.
“Right now, we consider that the defendants are in a
condition where they can return to court,” he said.
