All clear given over Atlanta office alert

ATLANTA (Reuters) - An Atlanta office building was
evacuated for about three hours on Monday after a maintenance
worker found a suspicious package that appeared to be an
explosive, but police later gave the all clear.

"It was not an explosive device," officer Steve Coleman, a
spokesman for the Atlanta police department, told Reuters after
police checked the package.

Police evacuated the Proscenium office building, a tower in
midtown Atlanta that houses mainly law offices and some
restaurants, just after 10 a.m. Police gave the all-clear about
1 p.m.

Local media reports said the same office building had a
minor fire last week.
