JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Several rockets landed in or near the Israeli city of Hadera on Friday, Israel's Channel 2 television reported, causing no casualties.
Israeli police spokesmen said at least two rockets landed near the city, 80 km (50 miles) from the Lebanese border.
Such strikes would mark the farthest that rockets fired by the Lebanese guerrilla group Hizbollah had landed inside Israel since the start of fighting between Israel and Hizbollah on July 12, when Hizbollah captured two Israeli soldiers in a cross-border raid.
Hizbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had threatened the group would fire longer-range missiles into Israel to target the city of Tel Aviv, 130 km (80 miles) from Lebanon, if the Israeli army attacked areas deeper inside Lebanon.
Israeli air strikes killed at least 40 civilians in Lebanon on Friday and earlier rocket attacks by Hizbollah killed three Israelis in northern Israel.
