NEW YORK - "American Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino will perform at next week's 2004 CFDA Fashion Awards. Some 400 designers, editors, retailers and guests are expected to attend the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards, to be presented Monday at The New York Public Library.
Barrino will perform a song "selected especially" for the evening, which will salute the city of New York, the CFDA said in a statement Thursday.
Her first single, "I Believe," comes out June 22 on J Records. It will feature two other songs she performed during the "Idol" competition: Gershwin's "Summertime" and Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools."
