NASA delays launch of space shuttle
August 26, 2006
CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida (Reuters) – NASA has delayed
Sunday’s planned launch of the space shuttle Atlantis for 24
hours, the U.S. space agency said on Saturday.
No immediate reason was given for the postponement. The
delay would give engineers more time to ensure that a lightning
bolt that struck the Atlantis launch pad on Friday caused no
damage to the shuttle or ground support equipment.
