Jun. 14–QUINHAGAK, Alaska — A 4-year-old child playing with a lighter started a fire that burned the inside of a Quinhagak home, Alaska State Troopers said.

No one was hurt.

Troopers say the home, belonging to 49-year-old Ferdinand Pleasant, caught fire about 10 a.m. Tuesday. None of the three people at home at the time was hurt. Local responders extinguished the flames and prevented the fire from spreading.

Quinhagak, population 650, is less than a mile from the Bering Sea coast, and about 70 miles southwest of Bethel.
