Caring Van Sets Date, Site for Immunizations

July 14, 2007
Repost This

Children in grades K-12 may receive their required immunizations before school enrollment this fall when they, with parents or guardians, visit a Caring Van clinic. Immunizations are given free- of-charge on a first-come, first-served basis. For each child immunized, a parent or guardian must provide records of previous immunizations and be present to complete paperwork.

Also, incoming freshmen at colleges and universities are required to be current on measles, mumps and rubella, tetanus and meningitis vaccines.

A clinic is scheduled this month in midtown from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 21 at the Tulsa Event Center, 2625 S. Memorial Drive.

The Caring Vans are mobile units staffed by registered nurses. Information about the program and to schedule a visit to a child care center is available by calling Mandie Hurley at 551-3414.
