Jul. 17–PRESTON — A Decorah, Iowa, physician made an initial court appearance in Fillmore District Court on Monday in connection with thefts of clothing from locker rooms in two Fillmore County high schools.

Dr. David J. Heine did not enter any pleas during the hearing. He’s charged with two counts each of felony burglary, misdemeanor theft and misdemeanor trespassing. His case is scheduled for a more detailed hearing on Oct. 1.

Heine, 38, is charged with entering Fillmore Central High School in Harmony and Mabel-Canton High School during May and taking clothes from the boy’s locker room at each site.

Heine is president of Decorah Clinic Physicians, part of the Mayo Health System, and chief medical officer for Winneshiek Medical Center, also in Decorah. He serves as medical director for Winneshiek Medical’s clinic in Mabel.
