eFoodSafety Announces Human Clinical Trials to Study the Effectiveness of ColdZap(TM) on Patients Suffering With the Common Cold

Posted on: Monday, 23 July 2007, 09:11 CDT

eFoodSafety.com, Inc. (OTCBB:EFSF) is pleased to announce that Bucks County Clinical Research, a FDA-approved research facility (bccrinc.com), has agreed to study the efficacy of eFoodSafety's ColdZap™, a proprietary formulation which was developed by the company's wholly owned subsidiary Knock-Out Technologies, Ltd. for the treatment of the common cold.

ColdZap™ is an all-natural compound that already has been shown to have anti-microbial effectiveness on the viruses associated with the common cold. The results in laboratory testing show that ColdZap™ kills the viruses and prevents their spread.

The clinical trials are intended to determine if ColdZap™ will lessen the severity and reduce the duration of the common cold. Since the formulation of ColdZap™ has already been shown to be safe to ingest, human clinical trials testing the product's efficacy treating the common cold can proceed immediately.

According to February 2003 research published by the University of Michigan, the common cold carries a "$40 billion price tag" in the U.S. economy alone. Reported to be the most commonly occurring illness in humans, the report projected that approximately 500 million colds occur in the U.S. per year, with an average of 2.5 colds per person per year.

Patricia Gruden, President and CEO of eFoodSafety.com, Inc. stated, "With ColdZap™, we're moving far beyond the treatment of cold symptoms. We're attacking the virus, the underlying cause of a cold. With anticipated positive results from these clinical trials, we expect to make a major impact in reducing the $40 billion price tag associated with the common cold. Obviously, with a positive outcome in human trials, ColdZap™ could quickly become a multi-million product for eFoodSafety."

Bucks County Clinical Research will be conducting its clinical trials on patients presenting symptoms of the common cold. Each patient will be given a packet of ColdZap™ to be used as the only remedy to treat this illness. Patients will be required to document their clinical response measured by improvement of their symptoms and reduction in duration of their illness. With positive results, eFoodSafety will quickly move ColdZap™ into the market beginning with existing retail distribution channels for other eFoodSafety products.
