Posted on: Tuesday, 31 July 2007, 06:19 CDT
Helius Inc., the worldwide leader in IPTV solutions for business, announced today the deployment of their Digital Signage solution at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. The network will provide Children's a tool to more efficiently communicate with and educate hospital patients and their families, employees, and guests.
The initial implementation includes screens displaying content in various common areas throughout the hospital. In addition to the standard display screens, the Helius technology will also be utilized to power a patient TV channel, where patients can learn about the hospital, its facilities and the patient experience. Due to the flexible nature of the Helius platform, a custom solution was formed to meet the unique requirements of Children's.
"We are proud of our association with Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC," said Kevin Lawrence, Director of Sales, Helius, Inc. "We are excited to play a role in allowing them to speed the flow of information to both patients and employees."
"The Helius solution has opened the door to much quicker distribution of information," said Deanne Haag, Director of Corporate Communications, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. "We are better able to meet the informational needs of our patients and families and are looking for additional ways to further utilize this digital communications tool."
