University Childrens Medical Group (UCMG) will start providing pediatric surgery coverage at Valley Presbyterian Hospital (VPH) beginning today.
"We are excited about this new partnership," said VPH's President and Chief Executive Officer Albert L. Greene. "It will greatly benefit the children in our community. Both UCMG and VPH are committed to providing advanced quality healthcare for the San Fernando Valley and beyond."
University Childrens Medical Group (UCMG) doctors are affiliated with Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and the University of Southern California (USC).
UCMC is a highly respected, well-established academic medical group with a wide range of physicians in a broad variety of pediatric specialty areas.
UCMG physicians in the CHLA Department of Surgery utilize the latest technology and clinical techniques to care for neonates, infants, children and adolescents with surgical problems.
Using a team approach, UCMG physicians will work in partnership with Valley Presbyterian Hospital physicians and specially trained nurses and therapists to provide world-class quality, family-centered pediatric surgical care in a nurturing environment.
The new pediatric surgical service is part of a comprehensive Children's Service at Valley Presbyterian Hospital. Valley Pres also has a level II Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
