Oregon State Fair: Celebration Oregon! Wine Awards and Tasting to Be Held August 24th

SALEM, Ore., Aug. 8 /PRNewswire/ — The Oregon State Fair (http://www.oregonstatefair.org/) kicks off its inaugural night of 2007 with the highly anticipated Celebration Oregon! wine awards and tasting event held on Friday, August 24th from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the Oregon Wine Patio in Hart’s Garden. Sponsored by Brainstorm NW, the Phoenix Grand Hotel and Bentley’s Grill, Celebration Oregon! showcases the winners of the 2007 Oregon State Fair Professional Wine Competition including the coveted Best of Classification and Best of Show awards. Wine enthusiasts will enjoy sampling award-winning varietals from all regions of Oregon and the evening will be complete with hors d’oeuvres prepared by celebrated Oregon chefs. Oregon Wine Patio at the Oregon State Fair

Throughout the Oregon State Fair, visitors are invited to sip and savor tastes of award winning wines form all regions of Oregon in the Wine Cellar and Tasting Bar in Hart’s Garden. Presented from 12 to 8 p.m. each day of the Oregon State Fair, the Oregon Wine Patio features lush gardens and an ever-changing list of well-chosen Oregon wines, offered by taste, glass and wine flights. Entry to the Oregon Wine Patio is free with paid fair admission.

About the Oregon State Fair

Started in the late nineteenth century, the State Fair has become an Oregon family tradition. Families come from all over the state to take in great shows, rides, culinary delights, and animal and agricultural exhibits. Fair attendees will be able to see over 26,000 exhibits in livestock, home arts and hobbies, show horses, fine art, photography, professional wine, homebrew beer, small animals, including poultry, rabbits, doves, pigeons and guinea pigs, plus 4-H and FFA animals and events.
