DALLAS, Aug. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. will demonstrate an innovative, integrated suite of electronic health record (EHR) solutions at the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) 2007 Conference in San Diego on Aug. 13-16.
The EHR suite provides a single online portal for physicians, pharmacists, payers, and patients to access clinical and claims information from a wide variety of previously unconnected sources, helping them make smarter health care decisions. The industry-leading technology integrates the data with clinical and business rules (such as drug treatment guidelines and health claims procedures) to provide useful information at the point of care. While currently supporting Medicaid agencies, the technology can be utilized by any health plan.
"Through this innovation, ACS is enabling better information, which leads to more appropriate care, fewer errors and complications, and lower costs," said Christopher T. Deelsnyder, ACS senior vice president and managing director of Government Healthcare Solutions. "Our solutions have already made a difference for our clients, and we're looking forward to further demonstrating our capabilities."
The suite of products may be used individually or in combination with the other applications:
* CyberAccess(SM): EHR and e-prescribing solution for physicians * DirectCarePro(SM): EHR and medication therapy management program administration for pharmacists * DirectInform(R): EHR application for patients * CyberFormance(SM): Health plan reporting and analytics tool for payers * SmartPA(R): Evidence-based solution for drug prescription prior authorization that benefits all four groups
Quality of care for Medicaid recipients has improved as the tools have identified potential adverse drug interactions and gaps in patient care due to previously fragmented data, and sent the information real-time to the critical point of care between provider and patient. Administrative costs and associated provider burden have been significantly reduced.
