TWO public meetings will be held next month to discuss plans to modernise NHS services in Morpeth and close the town’s Cottage Hospital.
Health chiefs propose building a new NHS diagnostic and outpatient centre in the town, providing rehabilitation and care beds in a local nursing home and transferring the Cottage Hospital’s inpatient beds to Wansbeck General in Ashington. The meetings will be in Morpeth Town Hall at 2pm on September 5 and at 6pm on September 10.
