Emergisoft Corporation announces the expansion of its Emergency Department Information System for Oakwood Healthcare System in southeast Michigan to include a fifth Emergency Department at Oakwood Southshore Medical Center. Emergisoft's ED system, EmergisoftED™, will provide secure access to patient information across all five facilities to improve clinical operating efficiency.
Emergisoft's EDIS is presently installed in four of Oakwood Healthcare System's facilities; Oakwood Annapolis Hospital, Oakwood Heritage Hospital, Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center, and the Oakwood Healthcare Center -- Canton. In recognition of the success and distinctive benefits that Emergisoft's ED System brings to the current Oakwood facilities, Oakwood Healthcare System decided to upgrade to the latest Microsoft .Net version of EmergisoftED and implement additional functionality and interfaces within the current facilities where EmergisoftED is presently installed.
"This important upgrade not only brings all of Oakwood's Emergency Departments under a single, highly advanced information system, it also positions Oakwood to move forward with a true, electronic medical record for our Emergency Departments," said Joanne McKay, Administrator, Emergency Services, Oakwood Healthcare System.
Joseph J. DeSilva, Emergisoft's Chief Executive Officer, believes that, "EmergisoftED will benefit Oakwood's physicians, nurses and hospital management by improving clinical coordination through expanded features such as physician and nursing documentation, physician order entry, customized aftercare instructions, and management reporting in order to enhance the system's efficiency."
"Emergisoft is pleased to support Oakwood Healthcare System's commitment to advance its service offerings and enhance care to the communities it serves," Mr. DeSilva stated.
Oakwood Healthcare System receives over 200,000 Emergency Department visits annually in its five EDs and has a total of 1,307 licensed beds. Oakwood Southshore Medical Center is a 168-bed facility that receives close to 26,000 Emergency Department visits a year. By installing EmergisoftED, Oakwood Southshore Medical Center will gain immediate access to ED patient records and help strengthen patient care across the Oakwood Healthcare System.
