Power3 Medical Products, Inc. Announces Preliminary International Validation Results of Their Blood Serum Biomarker Test for Parkinson's Diseases

Power3 Medical Products, Inc. (OTCBB: PWRM), a leading proteomics company specializing in the development and commercialization of diagnostic tests for early detection of breast cancer and neurodegenerative diseases, has concluded the initial phase of its international validation study of its blood serum biomarker test for Parkinson's diseases.
For the validation study, Power3 used patient samples provided by The University of Thessaly School of Medicine, in Greece, to replicate previous clinical validation studies completed in the US that demonstrates the blood serum protein biomarker's ability to distinguish between Parkinson's disease patients and normal control subjects.
The samples from Thessaly showed that the changes in the blood serum concentration of the protein biomarkers were consistent with previous Power3 results obtained in the US from Parkinson's disease patients. Power3 has validated its method for collection, storage, shipping, processing, and biostatistical analysis protocols. In validating the company's method of testing, the study confirms Power3's ability to reproduce its Parkinson's disease diagnostic test results with superior sensitivity and specificity.
"The international replication of our US results is highly gratifying to Power3. Our proteomics test performed as expected with the blood serum samples that were collected from the patients in Greece utilizing our rigid standards and protocols. The samples were shipped to our CLIA certified laboratory in Texas, where we performed the analysis. The consistency in the sample results from both the US and Thessaly, points to how robust this test is in diverse populations," said Essam A. Sheta, Ph.D., CLIA Laboratory Director.
Steven B. Rash, Chief Executive Officer, commented, "This study proves we are well on our way to commercializing the first ever blood serum proteomic tests for the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases. These encouraging Parkinson's test results, and the numerous validation studies that are underway for Alzheimer's disease, ALS, and similar neurological disorders, confirm our commitment to bringing these tests to market. We believe this test will be a major advance for patients and physicians, as it will offer a means to detect neurodegenerative diseases at their earliest stages without a painful and complicated spinal tap procedure."
