LANSING, Mich., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Risk Management and Patient Safety Institute (RM&PSI) today announced the dates, topics and speakers for its annual risk management conference. The RM&PSI, a subsidiary of FinCor Holdings Inc. (http://www.fincorholdings.com/), is a national leader in risk management and patient safety programs and practices for health care institutions.
The RM&PSI Annual Conference will take place Sept. 23-25, 2007, at the Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City, Mich., and again on April 21-22, 2008, at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The theme, On the Wings to Patient Safety: Innovative Solutions and Tools, demonstrates how aviation's use of safety systems and principles can apply to health care.
The annual conference will feature advanced ideas, techniques and tools to improve patient safety, as presented by well-known leaders in the field. Speakers include: Veteran NASA astronaut and national patient safety expert, Dr. James Bagian; Steven J. Hopson, the first deaf pilot to become instrument- rated; and many other leading voices.
Attendees will also gain new insights into important patient safety issues ranging from high occupancy and emergency department overcrowding to the effective engagement of patients in their care. The event will also spotlight the latest tools available to empower the frontline caregiver as a patient safety resource.
"The factors driving risk and patient safety practices in today's hospital environments are more complex than ever before," said Karol Wareck, vice president of The RM&PSI. "It is important that we proactively address these topics with CEOs, risk officers and other heath care leaders so they can begin the process of raising awareness and implementing these critical practices in their care environments."
The deadline for the spring conference registration is April 4, 2008. Additional conference and registration information can be obtained by visiting the Institute's Web site, http://www.rmpsi.com/.

Posted by Sharon on 06/18/2008, 23:05 The Risk Management & Patient Safety Institute is simply not qualified to present serious programs on risk management. This sounds like another one of their many money making schemes similar to their event tracking software and audioconference nonsense |
