Former Golden Meadows Site Set to Break Ground
Ground-breaking for Workouts Fitness Campus at the former Golden Meadows Swim Center, 2301 Harrisburg Pike, will take place Monday. Above are two architectural drawings of what the complex will look like. East Hempfield Township supervisors approved final plans last week. Construction will include a $4 million fitness center with a rock-climbing wall and racquetball courts. Mike Kellam and Don Anderson, who own two other Workouts locations, which will be consolidated in the new complex, are developing the project. When work is completed in the spring, the 11-acre campus will have 84,000 square feet of fitness amenities, surrounded by open fields, foliage and a stream. The existing indoor swim center also will be refurbished. The property includes an outdoor Olympic-sized pool. Workouts Fitness Campus will continue to be the home of the Lancaster Aquatic Club, the Hempfield High swim team and the Golden Meadows swim team.
