Children's Hospital Deploys LodgeNetRX Interactive Television System

LodgeNet Entertainment and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC has installed LodgeNetRX interactive patient television system. The hospital will deploy the system with an entertainment package including movies and games tailored for children to provide enjoyable experience for patient needs.

The system also provides features like hospital information and patient education.

Mark Giaquinto, vice president of financial and administrative services at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, said: "The LodgeNetRX system is one way to keep patients entertained during what can be a stressful time. Children and their parents will be able to select their favorite choices from a variety of entertainment options the system offers, whether it's watching movies or playing video games. The parents can access pertinent information related to services at the hospital including food service hours and menus, parking and daily activities."

Gary Kolbeck, vice president of healthcare business development for LodgeNet, said: "Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh continues to be at the forefront of innovative efforts to increase patient satisfaction and improve the overall healthcare experience for children. We admire the hospital's forward thinking by being the first children's hospital in the US to install LodgeNetRX, which will add to the high quality of care for patients that Children's is known for."
