Baby Found in Liverpool Garden

British police were trying to locate the mother of a male infant who was found abandoned in a backyard garden with his umbilical cord still attached.
A police spokesman said the infant was in good condition at Liverpool Women's Hospital where staff members have named him Zac, The Daily Mail reported Friday.
The 8-pound, 11-ounce boy was discovered late Thursday by a couple who heard what they said were cat-like sounds coming from the garden and found an infant wrapped in towels in a bag when they investigated.
Police went house-to-house in an effort to locate the infant's mother.
I'm very concerned about the welfare of the mother of the baby, police superintendent Colin Leeman told The Daily Mail. "I would appeal to her to come forward as soon as possible so we can do what's best for both her and the baby.
Clearly this little boy needs his mum, Leeman added.
