Ars Conference Brings Corporate Wellness Experts to Merry Hill
Two of the world’s leading experts in corporate wellness, health promotion and preventative medicine for business executives are set to speak at a major Midland legal conference later this month.
Dr Dorian Dugmore and Dr EJ Lee Rice will address an audience at Merry Hill’s Copthorne Hotel next Friday. The event forms part of the Ars Legis international legal network annual conference, hosted by Black County law firm George Green.
The event, which will be chaired by Sylvia Heal, MP for Halesowen and Rowley Regis and Deputy Commons Speaker, will see Dr Dugmore and Dr Rice speak about how corporate wellness and executive fitness affect every organisation and impact on business performance.
"Corporate wellness is a growing subject of importance for businesses everywhere," said Paul Bennett, corporate partner at George Green.
"The health, wellbeing and therefore the performance of staff, has a direct relation with the bottom line. Using their vast experience gained in sports and coronary medicine, our keynote speakers are world leaders in improving business performance by improving the health of business executives.
"Not only will this event help raise awareness of this important area of corporate responsibility across the region, but through the Ars Legis network the profile of the West Midlands as a business leader."
Dr Dugmore has been working in cardiovascular medicine and wellness for more than 30 years since pioneering a cardiac rehabilitation scheme within Dudley Health Authority in 1973 and has written extensively on health, exercise and heart disease.
He has worked with Adidas UK, Schwarz Pharma and Allied Dunbar, played and coached football at the highest level including four consecutive international appointments as Britain’s coach to the World Student Games soccer team, and is currently leading a research project on the cardiovascular health of the UK’s football league managers.
Coventry has been chosen to host the first Annual 2020 Lawyers Conference on October 3.
The full day event, which will take place at the Hilton Hotel, has been organised by the 2020 Lawyers Group which helps lawyers manage and market their practices more successfully and has 370 members.
Topics for the conference will include key predictions for the future of the legal profession, concerns over law firm solvency, how law firms can differentiate themselves and offer more pro-active services, motivating the firm and facing the challenges ahead.
