HEALTH officials have praised staff at an NHS Trust which is about to celebrate its first birthday.

Staff at County Durham Primary Care Trust have been praised for their efforts and achievements at the organisation’s first annual general meeting.

The County Durham PCT was formed on October 1, last year.

Chairman Lady Ann Calman said: “Primary care in County Durham is well recognised for what it has achieved.

“Our organisation acknowledges that the staff in our community hospitals, community nurses, other frontline specialists, support teams, and local GPs, dentists, optometrists and pharmacists, all work together with partners in NHS Trusts, local government and the third sector to deliver a first-class health service for County Durham.”
