UnitedHealth Group to Resume Marketing of Medicare Advantage Private-Fee-for Service Plans

UnitedHealth Group (NYSE:UNH) announced today that it has received approval from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to resume marketing its UnitedHealthcare-branded Medicare Advantage Private-Fee-For Service (PFFS) plans to individuals. This announcement follows the statement by CMS that the agency has completed its review and determined that the Company has demonstrated accelerated compliance with 2008 CMS marketing requirements.

"We support the strengthening of the industry-wide sales and marketing standards for Private-Fee-for-Service plans and look forward to speaking with Medicare beneficiaries across the country about how our plans can help them," said Ken Fasola, CEO of SecureHorizons, the UnitedHealth Group business unit that administers Medicare Advantage plans.
