Ariba Launches Spend Management University
As the creator and leader of spend management, Ariba, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARBA) has built an extensive base of knowledge and experience related to sourcing and procurement. Today, the company opened the doors to Ariba University (www.AribaUniversity.com), a unique educational forum through which it can share this expertise and help buyers and suppliers around the world build the skills needed to maximize technology-based spend management solutions and reap the benefits they provide.
“In today’s economy, it has become increasingly important for companies to embrace technology and best practices that enable them to adapt to growing complexities of doing business on a global scale,” said Jon Stevens, Vice President, North America, Ariba Consulting. “At Ariba, we are committed to providing buying and supplying organizations alike with solutions that enhance their performance and competitive advantage. In launching Ariba University, we are expanding our education offerings to help them fully leverage these solutions, drive change, and maximize the results they deliver.”
Through hundreds of courses and knowledge resources, Ariba University helps buyers and suppliers enhance their understanding of sourcing and procurement and keep pace with advances in the key technologies used to drive them. All courses are presented in hands-on, role-based learning environments and can be taken at one of twelve state-of-the-art learning centers that Ariba operates around the globe, at individual customer locations, or online. Delivered by seasoned instructors, instructional designers and education consultants, Ariba’s courses are ISM accredited, allowing participants who successfully complete them to receive continuing education hours that may be applied toward ISM C.P.M. recertification and/or A.P.P. reaccreditation program requirements.
In addition, Ariba University features a vast library of archived podcasts, white papers, online training modules and newsletters filled with practical, actionable information and best practices on everything from effectively managing and participating in online sourcing events to analyzing spend across categories to streamlining the invoicing and payment process, among other topics. Courses and library materials are updated regularly to ensure that the more than 3,000 students who attend Ariba University each year have access to cutting-edge information on timely topics.
“Technology alone cannot solve the challenges that global sourcing and procurement present,” Stevens continued. “Through Ariba University, buying and supplying organizations of all sizes can educate themselves on how technology can be adapted to meet their unique needs and tap a wide range of resources that enable them to achieve their goals.”
