MedAssets Supply Chain Systems, the group purchasing division of MedAssets, Inc., and Inviro Medical Devices (www.inviromedical.com) have extended their current agreement, providing MedAssets customers access to Inviro's extensive portfolio of safety hypodermic needle and syringe products. The contract extension adds five months and is active through July 31, 2008, the anniversary of MedAssets existing three-year safety hypodermic contract.
MedAssets Supply Chain Systems originally selected Inviro Medical through an assessment conducted at its 2006 Technology and Innovation Forum. During this annual event, MedAssets Supply Chain Systems customer advisory committees review companies of all sizes with new and unique technology. "In response to Inviro's committee ranking, we wrote a GPO agreement," explains John Kautzer, MedAssets Supply Chain Systems' director of distribution. "Based on our joint initial success, MedAssets is eager to extend an opportunity to make Inviro Medical's innovative safety technology available to our mutual customers."
"We are pleased to extend this supplier partnership with the MedAssets team," says Jim Charlesworth, SVP of sales for Inviro Medical Devices. "Our original agreement started March 1, 2007, just prior to our June rollout of Inviro Medical's latest innovation, the InviroSNAP!® with InviroSTRIPE® Safety Syringe. We can now offer MedAssets' customers our line of safety products that include an integral write-on stripe. This feature enables healthcare workers to record critical information directly onto the syringe barrel, thus helping to reduce risks for injectable medication errors and helping meet 2007-2008 Joint Commission medication labeling requirements."
Inviro Medical Devices engineers and markets safe medication delivery systems, including the patented InviroSNAP! Safety Syringe and InviroSNAP! Exchangeable combinations consisting of Luer Lock Safety Syringes, InviroLINK Vial Access Plastic Cannula and Exchangeable Needles in a range of sizes. All of Inviro's syringes are now available with InviroSTRIPE, its patented integral write-on stripe. After years of research to develop its patents and refine its product designs, the company is addressing the growing $1.6 billion safety syringe market and introducing its breakthrough infection control technology in North America.
"We are delighted to lengthen our agreement with MedAssets Supply Chain Systems well into 2008," says Gareth Clarke, chief executive officer of Inviro Medical Devices. "Their decision to extend availability of Inviro's unique safety technology to their customers represents a significant support of the company and its range of products. We look forward to working with MedAssets to help broaden its overall safety portfolio."
