Fontis Health Launches Online HSA Support System

FRANKLIN, Tenn., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Fontis Healthcare Services, Inc -- an online education, enrollment, and incentive support platform for Group Health Savings Account (HSA) announced its launch October 4, 2007. The Fontis Health platform (http://www.fontishealth.com/) simplifies the administration and use of HSAs for employers, employees, and insurance agents through a unique online platform.
HSAs have proven their ability to reduce healthcare costs for employers and employees alike, and have seen rapid growth since their introduction in 2004 -- according to a survey by America's Health Insurance Plans, enrollment in HSA plans grew 46% between 2006 and 2007.
However, switching to an HSA-based plan creates new challenges for employers who are required to educate their staff about a new plan design and provide ongoing support for employees as they accept more control over their healthcare. Fontis addresses these challenges via a web application that provides employees with customized video educational materials, a personalized online wellness program and a unique incentive program.
"The real solution Fontis provides is simplicity. HSAs offer employees an opportunity to save money in their healthcare, but it's a big change from what they're used to," said Aaron Briggs, Marketing Director of Fontis. "It requires a commitment to education, incentives to get them involved, and a sharp focus on the individual health needs of each employee. Fontis gives employees all this via an easily accessible online delivery method."
The Fontis platform offers year-round HSA support beginning with enrollment, during which time employees view a comprehensive online video presentation customized about their plan design. This presentation introduces the concept of an HSA in simple language and illustrates the cost savings through real-world examples. Employees then enroll online-saving time for the employer and the insurance agent.
Once enrolled, employees are encouraged to get more involved in their healthcare through Fontis' unique incentive program. This program uses employer HSA contributions to reward employees for completing a monthly curriculum of online health and wellness education personalized to their needs based on the results of an online Health Risk Assessment.
In addition to health and wellness education, the Fontis incentive program curriculum includes unique "consumerism" videos. These education pieces teach employees to better manage the cost of healthcare, find the best service at the best price and ultimately stretch their HSA dollars further.
Fontis released a beta version of its product to a small group of employers in January 2007 in order to finalize the product for a full launch in 2008. The system is now available to all employers for immediate use, as well as insurance agents who can utilize the Fontis system in order to add value to their HSA offerings. Furthermore, Fontis is offering a promotional rate for any employer with a plan start date on or before January 1, 2008.
