SURVIVAL rates for cancer have risen in Northern Ireland, a report revealed yesterday.

The Northern Ireland Cancer Registry study found male mortality rates dropped by 1.3 per cent and female deaths by 0.8 per cent between 1993 and 2004.

NICR director Dr Anna Gavin said the report was important for “the development of care”.
