Health Dialog Shared Decision-Making(R) Videos Honored at the 14th Annual National Health Information Awards

Health Dialog Services Corporation today announced that two of its Shared Decision-Making® videos were honored at the 14th Annual National Health Information Awards (NHIA). "Getting the Healthcare That's Right for You" and its corresponding booklet won a Silver Award in the "Consumer Decision-Making Information: Total Health Information Program" category. "Weight Loss Surgery: Is it Right for You?" received a Merit Award in the "Patient Education Information: Video" category. Winners were selected from more than 1,000 entries submitted in this year's awards program.

The two Health Dialog videos and corresponding educational material are part of a broad library of member support tools offered to individuals through Health Dialog's whole person Collaborative CareSM program, which includes disease management and decision support. Health Dialog's Shared Decision-Making® videos, produced in both DVD and VHS formats, provide individuals with unbiased, evidence-based information on treatment options as well as chronic condition management. They are developed in collaboration with the Foundation for Informed Medical Decision Making (FIMDM) and encourage individuals to take a more proactive role in their healthcare.

The National Health Information Awards, organized by the Health Information Resource CenterSM, is the most comprehensive awards program of its kind. Each year the NHIA recognizes the nation's best consumer health information programs and materials. Entries include brochures, audio/video tapes, newspaper and magazine articles, books, and other media, all of which are judged on content, format, success in reaching the targeted audience, and overall quality.
